Wes's tip

Saber or conocer?

Both mean "to know". Use saber for facts, information and skills: sé tu nombre, sé cocinar. Use conocer for people, places and things you're familiar with: conozco a María, conozco Madrid. Quick test: if you could say "know how" or "know that", it's saber.
