I moved from the Netherlands to Spain. The only Spanish I knew? "Hola" and "gracias".
The years after
I tried everything: Duolingo, books, YouTube videos, free courses, paid courses, AI apps… Most of it sucked. Some of it was really helpful. But what I missed most was a structure that made sense: things taught in a logical order, one step at a time.
Hundreds of hours later
After hundreds (if not thousands) of hours of learning, I had two notebooks full of notes. That's when I realized they could help others who are where I once was.
Now
So I spent my evenings and weekends building my own course, for free. Easier said than done: it took an enormous amount of energy, and almost cost me my sanity.
