Dutchie 🇳🇱, living in Spain 🇪🇸About the course
¡Hola! I'm Wes, a Dutchie who's been living in Spain for the past few years. Just like you, I had to learn Spanish from scratch. So I started making the lessons I wish I'd had: clear, practical and free.
My mission: anyone should be able to learn Spanish, no matter their budget. That's why these 200 lessons are free, and they'll stay free.

Complete beginners, and anyone who's learned some Spanish before but feels stuck or wants to level up. You don't need any Spanish to start: lesson 1 begins from zero. Already know a bit? The first lessons might feel easy, but stick with it. You'll reach your level soon, and you'll fill gaps you didn't know you had along the way.
This course gives you a super solid foundation in Spanish. It covers everything you need for real, everyday conversations: pronunciation, the most-used verbs, the present, past and future, and the vocabulary and phrases native speakers actually use. Both Spain 🇪🇸 and Latin America 🌎, with the differences explained.
I try to keep it as neutral as possible, so you'll be understood everywhere in the Spanish-speaking world. Where Spain and Latin America do things differently, I show you both: like vosotros (Spain) vs ustedes (Latin America), the "th" sound in words like gracias in Spain, and words that change per country, like coche vs carro. One thing I didn't include is voseo: using vos instead of tú, like in Argentina and Uruguay (Chile has its own version too). It's easy to pick up later once you have the foundation. There's also a bonus lesson about this: What type of Spanish?
Watch the lessons in order, one chapter at a time. Download the reference sheet for each lesson to review, and tick the lesson off here so you always know where you left off. A few lessons a week beats a marathon once a month.
Yes! All 200 lessons and the reference sheets are free, forever. If the lessons help you, you can support me here. And if you want to go further, there are paid courses with more structure and practice.
It really depends on how much effort you put in. In general, this course takes you from zero to an intermediate level, roughly B1. You'll understand the basics of the language, talk about your life, your past and your plans, and follow simple conversations. The more effort you put in, the further you'll get.
Lots of listening, lots of speaking, and consistency. This course gives you the foundation. After that, speak as much as you can: with a tutor, a language exchange or friends. My paid courses are built to take you from understanding to actually speaking.
Paid courses
My paid courses take you further: structured, step by step, with practice built in. Everything you need to actually start speaking.
