<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Omitting Subject Pronouns in Spanish</strong></h2>

<p class="has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7b91b9bb58e43f447382fe2ba3f9a52d">In this grammar lesson, we learn that in the Spanish language, it’s normal to “omit” the subject pronouns when we communicate. </p>

<p class="has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-00d8dc4ac3192d0e0ee6d47162cd25f8">This means that you don’t always have to say words like “<strong>I</strong>,” “<strong>you</strong>” “<strong>he</strong>” or “<strong>she</strong>” when you talk. This is because <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Spanish verbs usually show who is doing the action</span></strong>. For example, instead of saying “<strong>Yo hablo</strong>” (I speak), you can just say “<strong>Hablo</strong>” and it still means “I speak.” <strong>The</strong> <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">verb endings make it clear who you’re talking about</span></strong>, so you <strong>don’t</strong> need to use the pronouns unless you want to add extra emphasis or clarity. This helps make sentences shorter and sound more natural in Spanish.</p>
