Fundamentals (pt. 2)

In this lesson, we go over the ‘Fundamentals‘ of the Spanish language. These ‘Fundamentals’ are words & phrases that are very commonly used in the Spanish language, so you will most likely hear them a lot.

These Fundamentals lessons consists of multiple parts, in which we will learn around 10 to 15 words or phrases each time per lesson.

Make sure to learn these words & phrases, because you will use them very often!

Introduction to Verbs in Spanish

In this lesson, we go over an ‘Introduction to Verbs’ in the Spanish language. When you start learning Spanish, you might notice verbs like hablar (to talk), comer (to eat), and vivir (to live) being used to describe actions or states.

Verbs are an essential part of any sentence in Spanish, and so in this lesson, I try to explain to you what verbs are, how they are structured, and why they are so important when forming sentences in Spanish.

Subject Pronouns in Spanish

In this lesson, we go over the ‘Subject Pronouns’ used in the Spanish language. When you start learning Spanish, you might notice words like yo, tú, él, and ella being used to replace names or nouns in sentences.

There is a specific way these pronouns are used in Spanish, also depending on which country / continent you are in, and so in this lesson, I try to explain to you how subject pronouns work, when to use them, and how they can simplify your Spanish conversations.

Punctuation marks in Spanish

In this lesson, we go over the ‘Punctuation mark‘ that are being used in the Spanish language. When you start learning Spanish, you might notice these weird inverted questions marks (¿), and exclamation marks (¡) in written Spanish.

There is a reason why these punctuation marks are being used like this in the Spanish language, and so in this lesson, I try to explain to you how to write the punctuation marks in Spanish, and why they are being used.

In this blue vocabulary lesson, we go over the second part of the most commonly used ‘introductions’ in Spanish. Again, in order to learn these words by heart, I recommend using a technique called ‘flashcards’. I strongly recommend to first learn these words by heart, which might take about a week, before moving on to the next lesson.

In these first lessons, we are building the foundation on which we will build later on during this course, so don’t try to rush through these lessons, but instead take the time to get used to the words & phrases you are provided with.

Introductions (pt. 1/2)

In this blue vocabulary lesson, we go over the first part of the most commonly used ‘introductions’ in Spanish. We will learn how to say hello, how to introduce ourselves, ask for the other person’s name, and how to say goodbye.

In total, we learn 21 words/phrases during this lesson. This can be a lot all at once, so I recommend using a technique called ‘flashcards’ to learn these words & phrases. I strongly recommend to first learn these words by heart, which might take about a week, before moving on to the next lesson.

The Basics

In this lesson, we discuss some of the most popular basic words & phrases that are useful to add to your own vocabulary. We start with the absolute basics, and slowly but surely build our way up to more advanced topics, such as grammar & verb conjugation.

Even if you already know some Spanish, it is still important to take the time and study these words, because they form the foundational building blocks on which you can continue to add vocabulary & grammar. I recommend using a technique called ‘flashcards’ to learn these words & phrases, more about this in a later lesson!

¡Bienvenidos! Welcome to this Spanish course, I’m super excited to have you started on your learning journey, and can’t wait to see your progress!
